About Brendan Bostock

Studying at Bond University; Bachelor of Interactive Media and Design; majoring in Digital Media Design and Computer Games. I live on the Gold Coast with my wife, two daughters and three Siamese kittens.

I’m a creative person by nature. I have been a musician for as long as I can remember, this enabled me to travel throughout Australia and perform to thousands of people. I was the one who would design album covers, posters and websites (way back when animated GIF’s were cool the first time around). I have put the brakes on music for the time being to pursue my design and computer games interest.

I started off playing drums and singing with my brothers and sisters; we called ourselves The Bostocks. We toured extensively and recorded a few EP’s and CD’s. We marketed ourselves as contemporary country and played popular Australian country festivals such as Gympie Muster, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and others. We also had the opportunity to play in New Zealand at a couple of food & wine festivals. The release of our second album ‘Not By a Long shot’ saw us receive two Golden Guitar nominations; best new talent & best instrumental.

While I was playing the drums in the band, I picked up the guitar and started my side-project called ‘Super Nudist’. This involved me writing and recording all the songs and music, and also recording all parts. I gathered some musicians to play bass and drums for a few live shows around Brisbane and Gold Coast. I haven’t played live in a while but continue to write and record material; eventually I release my music online for free digital download.

Before I started at Bond University, I started at GCIT (Gold Coast TAFE) where I obtained a Certificate IV in Interactive Media & Design. This enabled my entry into Bond. I have completed three semesters and have received several distinctions and high distinctions for projects completed for various subjects. Subjects completed so far include Web Communication, Design Communication, Game Design & Logic, Digital Media & Society, Computer Game Industry & Policy, Computer Game Culture & Audiences, Communication Skills, Entrepreneurship, Business Applications of IT, Contemporary Issues in Law and Society, 3D Modelling, Animation, Mobile Game Development and Interactive Experience
